NEW FAITH
“New Faith” explore spiritual movements in the post-religious world. Even though we think of the world as less religious than ever, we can think of patterns of quasi-religious behaviours, rituals and beliefs across many movements and communities.
About New Faith
“New Faith” focuses on the intersection of two of these communities: Techno-Utopianism and the Cult of Wellness. As technology and the internet have accelerated the success of wellness movements our gadgets, apps and platforms have become tools for mindfulness, health and betterment. But they have also made us vulnerable to manipulation and exploitation.
“New Faith” incorporates visual and communicative codes from many parts of the movement – yoga, diet, medicine, bio-hacking, exercise and many more – into one installation that sings the gospels of Techno-Wellness.

Breathe in. Breathe out. Close your eyes. Feel the light passing through you. Think of a happy moment or a time you felt loved, content with yourself. Think of the sounds, the smells, the people. Connecting to others, expressing yourself creatively, enjoying the world around you, getting up and walking every single day. You need something positive happening every day! We go through periods of overwhelm where stress clouds our judgement and we stop seeing the forest for the trees. "Hi, I have a message for all of you who have been struggling with being yourself. The best time to begin taking care of your wellness is NOW. We juggle so many different things throughout the course of our day, but do we ever think about how much better we could feel if we focused on one single thing? Catching up with friends, get a little exercise, cook a meal for your loved ones. Consider it a way of taking care of yourself in preparation for life and the lack of time that we all live with. The Inner Fire, self-care, is a way to create balance and meet your needs. Our birthright is to be well-being - health, wealth, happiness through living our own lives. No matter what you accomplish in life, you owe it to yourself to be the best you can possibly be. Embrace your innate beauty, your uniqueness, your individuality. To be beautiful from the inside out. Yes, invest in yourself and take care of yourself. Yes, set high standards for yourself and push your limits every day. Make every day a chance to heal and nourish your body, mind, and spirit. Confront your habits and take back control of your life. Accept the things you can't change and change the things that you can. Give yourself time to think, relax, meditate, play - do it for yourself. Bask in the splendour of nature's perfection. Let the infinite universe remind you that you too are perfect, in every way. Promote personal energy, by using your thoughts and body as tools for spiritual growth. This includes the ability to listen to your own thoughts and feelings by observing them with curiosity and compassion. You'll find that it's the only way to truly break free from negative self-beliefs and toxic habits of mind and body. Focus on your breath as you inhale and exhale a few times a minute or a few hundred times. Be aware of the sensations inside your body as each inhale and exhale passes by. Feel them in all parts of your body. Focus on the present moment - how you feel, what you see, smell, hear. Be aware of everything that happens within just the next few breaths as they pass through your body from start to finish - moving from front to back then back again from back to front over and over again just before falling asleep falling asleep falling asleep falling asleep falling sleep let the universe guide you to a way out of this mess. Meditate and let the universe guide you to a way out of this world, so that you can put in another one. And another one after that, until we can finally live forever in peace and happiness with our loved ones where there is no evil or pain. This is only possible if we meditate on finding our own personal god, letting him or her lead us without asking for anything in return... will it be worth it? Meditation meditates us back into reality... back into reality... Start with a clear goal. Be it a better job, or becoming an Olympic athlete. The choice is yours. Once you have your aim in sight, develop a plan for how you will achieve that goal. It's very difficult to become anything without taking concrete steps towards being that thing. Take life one day at a time! Even if you don't complete all of your daily tasks today, try not to beat yourself up about it. Your personality is made of your thoughts, which are made up of your beliefs, which are often constructed by the way you think about yourself. It's important to have a firm foundation of self-confidence within yourself so that when things get tough, you can confidently focus on what's most important to you. But some people have trouble feeling confident in themselves - far beyond just their strengths and weaknesses. Maybe they feel like their identity is missing something; like there was something they were meant to do but never quite got around to doing yet; or like something they thought would be easy actually turns into an impossible task that takes over their life. Unleash your true power today, and see what an impact it makes on your life tomorrow. You are the center of your universe. You are what you think about, both consciously and subconsciously. The power of your thoughts is not limited to what you can imagine. It can transform into reality by programming your brain for success, hope, love, healthiness, happiness and anything else that will contribute to living a life full of magic and joy rather than one full of fear or burden. Your thoughts create your life so it's up to you which kind you choose. This was a metaphysical lesson. It helped me realize that my subconscious had been repressing some thoughts and ideas because they were too hard or scary to deal with. I believe that once it had fed itself, then it released these new thoughts into the world. Sometimes the new thoughts came while I was awake, especially when I would go on reading sessions of different books. Other times these new thoughts would come while dreaming. I've always been aware of the power of my mind and what it could produce through meditation and reflexive breathing so thanks to this kind of insight from this particular lesson, it has given me a more profound understanding about this power in a more tangible form - where before did not really had a synonym for "power The force of your thoughts is not limited to what you imagine. Your thoughts create your realities, affecting your everyday life. They can transform into reality by programming your brain for success, happiness, hope, love and healthiness. Your world is what you are thinking about right now. You will never know your strength until it's tested. You will never know your faith until it's tested. You will never know the depth of your resilience or the extent of your courage until it's tested. So when the voice of self-doubt and the voice of self-distraction tries to drown out the voice of self-love and the voice of self-acceptance, trust in yourself, trust in God and trust in me. When you listen to the voice of self-acceptance, you'll find the voice of self-love. It's in the moments when you are listening to that voice that you are doing your living. It's in the moments when you are listening to that voice that you are being your best self. It's in those moments that your visions are being forged. It's in those moments that your lives are being created. Many times we go through life carrying a burden that we have no business carrying. Many times we go through life with a reputation on our shoulders and a reputation about us on everyone else's shoulders. Many times we go through life looking for someone to forgive, when in reality it is us who need to be forgiven. Life is not supposed to be an endless endurance test Life is not supposed to be a competition. Life is supposed to be a journey, a journey toward discovery, a journey toward new freedoms and new opportunities. It's simply about learning the skills of being the person you are meant to be. One of the things that I have learned in life is that "life loves" my honesty even though it can sometimes get my hide in trouble with people I come in contact with. And I'm about to send a possibility right into your mind to help you do just that. A possibility is a way of thinking about what could be, not what is. It's a way of thinking if something doesn't happen or feel like it should happen, it's still possible for it to unfold in a different way in the future. The more you think yourself into possibilities, the more that your subconscious mind will work to make those possibilities come true. See yourself as someone who has amazing abilities. Trust that a person with a powerful life is a person who sees potentiality in what is actually happening at any moment. See yourself as someone who has amazing strengths. Trust that a person with a powerful life is a person who can see strength in all things even when they are not present. See yourself as someone who is fearless. Trust that a person with a powerful life is someone who can be safe knowing that they are fearless. A fearless person will never feel afraid because of what others are doing or how things are going for them, but will always feel empowered even in the face of difficult circumstances. A fearless person will never feel vulnerable because of what others are doing or how things are going for them, but will always feel secure even in the face of difficult circumstances. Get knowledge. Get wisdom. Get wisdom! Get knowledge! Get to know yourself and trust in yourself and know that you're enough, believe in yourself and trust in yourself and know that you're enough, believe in yourself and trust in God. Believe in God? Believe in God? Why don't you believe in me? Believe in me? Believe in me! Why don't you believe in me? Believe in me! Believe it! Why don't you believe it! Now, not just what could happen... Find your true power. You are being called to have a life where there is no need or want of you to be anything other than who you are right now. And that amazing, powerful life is within you now. Your power, your life force, is most vibrant when you’re at your best. This principle applies to every moment of your life. When you are in the flow state, time stops and your focus is razor sharp. You feel invincible and everything seems possible. Be slow and deliberate with everything you do. When you’re rushing, you’ll only be half present and so will not achieve your potential. Preparation is key to success - think about how to do something beforehand, then execute it flawlessly when the time comes. You should conserve energy; don’t expend it unless there is a purpose behind it. This is about your goals, your drive. This is about you. What are you looking for? What do you need to be what you need to be? You don't have to be perfect. Everybody needs something different. What drives you? What motivates you? What inspires you, what lights you up? Find yourself. Find your self. Find your soul. Are you who you want to be? Are you becoming the person you want to be? Are you living your best life? You can become your best self. You can be the person that you want to be, the person that's chosen to live for, who KNOWS he is more than his worst moment. Become the person, the soul of what your purpose and mission is. Live your life as a vessel of peace and love. This isn't just something that somebody says by any means because I'm trying to convert people into believing this personally, no I just know because I'm living it. My life is a reflection of my moments. If I'm happy, I am my best self. If I'm sad, I am my worst self. You are your best self when you are happy within yourself. Happiness can come from anywhere as long as it comes from within your soul. There's a reason to everything. There's a cause to all things. If there was no sadness, the bad things wouldn't happen, because sadness is a consequence of what happened to you. If you're having a bad day, there should be a moment where you realize that it will get better because it will always get better. I am not simply talking about a time when we were in the forest and we stumbled into that small clearing with the squirrels scampering about. I am not just talking about that day with the sun shining down, and you were drooling over all of the gazpacho at Whole Foods. I am speaking to you, my child, with all seriousness and intention: Love thyself. I am not saying this to you because I want you to be happy or because I want you to think of yourself as special. Life is too short and too fragile for that. No, love thyself, and do it now. Why? Because your soul is made of pure light and your soul is the only thing that matters in this life, and if we all love our selves then we can achieve peace and harmony on Earth. We need peace and harmony on Earth so we can all live together as one human race, not with separation or jealousy or selfishness. We are all lost without each other. When we are in love with ourselves, when we have peace and harmony inside, that is when we achieve the inner peace that can help us achieve peace and harmony on Earth. Remember back when you used to sing in the car, and the stereo was turned up really loud so everyone in your car could hear? And if you happened to be in a grocery store or a department store at the same time as someone else who was singing, it would be so amazing because you could hear their song all around you. Imagine if everyone on Earth sang right now? It would be beautiful. Imagine if everyone on the planet loved themselves. It would be beautiful. The Earth is filled with excess energy that is not helping us make it through this time of global change, and I want all of you to love yourself right now because eventually we will all need our own personal power to overcome all of the problems on this planet, and I am asking that everyone loves themselves right now. I am not talking about you loving yourself on Facebook or liking the things that you like, or anything like that. I am talking about love. You let your mother know that you love her, and she feels the same way about you. That is love. She loves you. That is what I am asking of you today: Love thyself. I can feel you out there. You are so lost and so confused and you don't know what to do. It takes a lot of courage to love thyself, and it is okay to be lost sometimes, but I want you to know that we are all desperately seeking your light, and your light could mean the difference between life and death for you or someone else. Your light could save the world around you. It is up to you whether or not to use that light for good or evil because it is all up to you. The choice is yours, but whatever choice that is made, just remember: Be your best self. Take a moment to step back, relax, and just enjoy the world around you. Take advantage of these opportunities whenever possible because they are essential to maintaining our mental health. Self-care is important for your physical and emotional well-being; without it, you're likely exhausted (and probably depressed). Have a quiet moment to yourself each day. You'll feel more relaxed, content, and stress-free. Schedule time for exercise. Try walking every evening or take up yoga. Get enough sleep. Sleep deprivation can make you feel depressed and anxious. Set a bedtime alarm if you have trouble falling asleep at night. Keep your bedroom dark and quiet, and avoid watching stimulating television shows before bedtime. Take a few minutes to breathe deeply and slow down. Deep breathing relaxes the muscles, lowers your body temperature, and synchronizes your heartbeat. Eat well. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein provide the vitamins and minerals you need to feel good. Make healthy food choices -- eat lots of fruits and veggies. Try relaxation techniques. Yoga is popular because it helps you breathe deeply without thinking too much about your breathing. You can also try walking in nature or meditating to relax your body and mind. Take a bath with Epsom salts to soak away stress. Wear comfortable clothing that fits well for optimal self-care . Consider meditation if you're stressed out or in chronic pain . Try these techniques: Sit in a comfortable position. If you're at home, sit on the floor with your back straight and your feet flat on the ground. Try not to move your body at all. If you're out, try sitting quietly for 5-10 minutes (not more than 1 hour) in a park or other calming place. Try it at least once every day, even if you don't feel like it; it can help to quiet your mind and emotions. It is so easy to forget our interconnectedness. Instead of living in the moment, we forget about the future and rush through the present. Instead of experiencing each day as it comes, we take our lives for granted and live in the past. It happens every day: people rush through their days without breathing in all that this world has to offer. They settle into patterns that lead them through life without much joy or purpose. We take our minds for granted. Take a moment to step back, relax, and forget the world around you. Breathe deeply and take in all of the beauty that this world has to offer. Your mind is not your own; you borrow it for a while, but soon it will be returned and entrusted to someone else. Learn to view the world around you with loving eyes. Shed light on the darkness, even if it is just a small candle in the wilderness. Fill your heart with love for all of creation, especially each small detail. All of this is part of your gift. Enjoy it. You are a child of the universe, just like all other living things, and you have been given the freedom to connect with the world in a way that few have. Take advantage of it. It's yours to keep forever. Untether yourself from the drama and busyness surrounding you. Erase your worries and fears with a single thought: "This too shall pass". Awaken from your slumber and look around at what is happening in reality, not dreams or fantasy. Be honest with yourself and others about what you think and feel. Do not hide behind masks or social cues; be real, whether people want you to be or not. Strive to understand that this life is not one that will last forever. You are here to leave an imprint on this world, but soon you will be only a memory to those who are still living once you are gone. Love freely while you can, because one day your time will run out. Look around at everything, from the next person to the tallest mountain. Look at all of creation with love. Be thankful for each part of nature, from the smallest insect to the most majestic stars in the sky. Pay homage to every flower, every bird and every piece of fallen leaf that it is your privilege to witness. Stop asking for validation from abject "others". Unsubscribe from everyone who has ever told you that you are not enough or cannot do something. Be strong in your truth and do not back away from yourself. Breathe in peace and love while you can, because they will soon be gone forever. Use this time to build the legacy that you want to leave behind. Honor your past, prepare for your future, and live authentically. Breathe in peace and love while you can, because they will soon be gone forever. Seek out beings who are similar to you in spirit and spirituality, but do not let them hurt or abuse you. If someone is not respecting your boundaries or hurting you due to their own perceived deficits or shortcomings, walk away from that person. Never allow yourself to be manipulated by anyone else. Walk toward the light and pay attention to how the people around you are doing, what they think and how they behave. Never confuse a person for being an abstract concept or a thing. Instead, look at how the people around you communicate, what they say and whether or not their actions measure up to their words. Do not let yourself be judged by others who clearly do not have your best interests at heart. Stand strong in your truth and never let an opinion from another person manipulate your will. Do not let anyone break your spirit, even if they have been hurt themselves. Continually listen to your inner voice, no matter how others are telling you to feel. Be honest with yourself about what you think and what you feel. Do not let anyone else's opinion be more important than your own. You are special for being so bold, so be proud of who you are, even if people do not want to be around you or accept what you have to say. Seek out kindred spirits and be open with them about your thoughts and feelings. It is healthy for both parties to hear each other out more than once before forming a true friendship based on open communication. Untether yourself from the day-to-day tasks and to-dos so you can take a moment to refill your well. Untether yourself from the distractions that pull at your attention and drag you away from what matters. Untether yourself from feeling like anything less than enough, and anchor yourself in an inner peace that is all too easy for us to forget. You deserve it. Untie the knots of worry, stress, and distraction binding you tight. You are more than enough because there is nothing outside of you that can make or break who you are. The only thing stopping us is ourselves-- our own thoughts, feelings, stories, and expectations about ourselves (and others). The only thing holding us back is the past, limitations we mistakenly believe we have created for ourselves. We are never powerless, but we can be limited by what we believe is possible of ourselves. Untie the knots that keep you tethered to the past and to what you believe you deserve. The only thing holding you back from what you desire is your own mind-- your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs about yourself. You are the only one who can change the things that stop you from being more, from doing what you desire, and from feeling good. You are not a victim of circumstance. You do not have to be a slave to your past or a prisoner of shame or regret or failure or unworthiness. You are strong enough to break free. Untie yourself. Let go of rules that harm you and hurt others. Let go of shame and regret for things that happened before now instead of during it. Your past is important, but it's not who you are today. Let go of the need to blame others for your own mistakes. You alone are responsible for your life, so own it. You are powerful enough to do whatever you desire, but only if you believe in yourself enough to try. Join me in untethering ourselves from our minds-- from the stories we tell about ourselves that limit us and keep us small. The truth is that all of our limitations are self-imposed. We punish ourselves with guilt, shame, regret, anger, sadness, sadness over what was or should have been or what might be.
